THE LAKESIDE CHURCH LEADERSHIP

SABRINA FOERSTER, LEAD PASTOR

Sabrina was born in Sri Lanka, grew up in Nigeria and moved to Canada when she was 11 years old. She made a personal decision to follow Jesus as her Lord and Saviour at the age of 16.

Sabrina's desire is to see people growing in their faith and sharing the good news of Jesus with others. She is a firm believer that the local church rooted in the Word of God and empowered by the Holy Spirit will bring change to the world.

Sabrina is married to Brian, her best friend and partner in ministry. They have been blessed with four incredible children:  Gabriele-Praise, Ethan, Galilee and Bethlehem. Sabrina loves spending time with her family, travelling, antiquing, reading, painting 'all the things' shades of white and re-decorating her home for every season.

REMEMBERING BRIAN FOERSTER

On September 25th, 2023, Brian's gentle spirit went home to be with his Lord and Saviour Jesus. We imagine Brian is doing nothing short of strolling the glorious golf courses of heaven, while hitting stellar home runs in the coolest kicks and repping 4Studios. He will continue to carry on the family tradition of picking the finest apples and using them to bake the sweetest treats imaginable.

Brian was born on May 14, 1976 in Walkerton, Ontario and raised on a farm just outside of Neustadt. When attending Eastern Pentecostal Bible College, he met the love of his life, Sabrina. The newlyweds moved to Toronto, Ontario to raise four beautiful children, Gabriele Praise, Ethan, Galilee, and Bethlehem. Together, the Foerster pack took on the world with kindness and courage.

Brian was a jack-of-all-trades. He was the Senior Pastor of The Lakeside Church (TLC), preaching powerful sermons to a congregation of over 300+ individuals. He was a loving father that told his children if they could dream it, they could do it. He was the husband that built his wife's dream home and re-did it over and over again to see her smile anew each day. He was the neighbour that never forgot to say hello, the one that asked how your kids were doing and remembered them each by name. He was the colleague, and the friend who brought fresh-baked cookies whenever faces looked a little low. He was the man that dyed his hair pink in support of breast-cancer awareness. He was an avid athlete, excursion goer, and destination traveller that made every experience a memorable one. He was a hard core sports fan – you name the sport, tell him the rules, and he'd beat you in it. He was the handyman who figured it out, and he always did. This inconclusive list showcases the many ways that Brian brought overwhelming joy to the lives of all those around him, daily.

Brian and Sabrina, the pastor-power couple, have continued to minister together for over 25 years, spreading the Lord’s message and God's grace to every individual that had the privilege of encountering them.

Brian is survived by his Foerster pack, his many aunts, uncles, cousins, and his TLC family. He is the beloved son of Dennis & Barb Foerster and Lalitha Arnold. Loving brother of Bobbie-Jo & Brent Reuber, Terry & Crystal Foerster, Christine & Paul Bouius,  Michelle & Brad Doherty and Tania & Chris Stokes. Adored Uncle to Caleb, Becca, Cana, Abby, Avery, Noah, Josh, Levi, Maya and Rohan. Cherished great uncle to Cameron. Predeceased by his grandparents Milton & Marie Foerster and Clayton & Cora Schnurr, father-in-love Leonard Arnold and nephew Jesse Daniel Foerster.

In our hearts, Brian will still be a community leader, a dad to all the kids that knew him, and a friend to all that met him. To say that he will be missed by many would be a colossal understatement. Should you have had the privilege of knowing Brian, you would know that the loss felt in his absence is monumental.

Pastor Brian baptized me one year ago and provided great comfort when I was sick. He encouraged me to maintain my faith and rely on Jesus. He is a teacher, an older brother, and a protector to me. His warm smile, kindness, and unwavering strength encourage me to keep my faith.
