For “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” But how can they call on Him to save them unless they believe in Him? And how can they believe in Him if they have never heard about Him? And how can they hear about Him unless someone tells them? And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent? That is why the Scriptures say, “How beautiful are the feet of messengers who bring good news!”
Romans 10:13-15

The Lakeside Church is a missions-minded church. We partner with local, national and international organizations in their missions to go and share the good news of freedom, hope and new life in Jesus Christ with our world. We give so they can go.
Our Missions Focus for the month of September is LifeLine. David Burke Campus Pastor at Toronto Metropolitan University, otherwise known as TMU (formerly Ryerson University). TMU is situated in the heart of downtown Toronto, and is home to over 48,000 students, the majority of whom do not know Christ as their Saviour. In 2012, David felt God calling him to reach the students of this campus in the core of the city. So, together with his wife, Krysten, they launched into ministry on this campus and have never looked back. "LifeLine", a ministry to campus students was developed in response to the spiritual gap they were seeing in this large post-secondary campus environment. Today, LifeLine exists to be a vibrant faith community on campus - one that is actively introducing people to Jesus Christ, and discipling and mentoring those who already know Him. David works alongside Jazelle Johnson, a former Ryerson student who also sensed God's calling for the campus, as they team together to accomplish God's plan through LifeLine at TMU.

LifeLine is a safe place for students to gather, both online and for in-person gatherings. Students are free to voice doubts and stretch their faith, with the knowledge that God is big enough to handle tough questions and doubting minds. David encourages lively discussion with campus students as they delve into the Scriptures and discover the truth of who God is, what He means to them, and what they mean to Him.
In addition to sharing the good news and having students come to an understanding of the difference Jesus can make when they put Him first in life, one of LifeLine's primary objectives is to serve those on this post-secondary campus. The group actively engages in various initiatives including running Red Frogs TMU, where students are supported, served, and safeguarded in their campus environment. Red Frogs TMU serves students in tangible ways and allows for open doors where students can engage in dialogue with LifeLine leaders and volunteers, while building relationships and feeling safe and supported. To know more about Red Frogs, visit Red Frogs Website.
LifeLine is a community of students on a journey to find, follow, and serve Jesus Christ. It is impacting the spiritual climate of this significant campus in our nation. Give to support this important ministry.
